Set up a city in five steps
Organising a city game sounds like weeks of work, with routes, notes and one person who never gets to play. In Tikkertje you do the preparation on the dashboard, and then everyone plays. You included.
Step 1: find your city
Enter the city. Based on OpenStreetMap, Tikkertje suggests areas and places. They are suggestions: nothing enters the game until you have looked at it.
Step 2: review the areas
Check that each area is playable. Remove what is too far away, move borders and feel free to add an area yourself. Make sure places are safe and open to the public.
Step 3: choose a spot per area
Each area has one mission location. Players have to be near it to claim, within 50 metres by default. Pick a spot that is easy to find.
Step 4: write the missions
Choose a photo, a photo series or a video and add one clear sentence. Need help? Read how to write missions that work.
Step 5: set the rules
Decide the game length, the closures and the deadline for the wrong half. Make sure there is something left to claim until the end: if everything has closed while the clock keeps running, the game goes quiet.
Then invite everyone with a code and let Swasi pick the first tagger. The city is saved, so next time you skip most of this. A new game only needs a new game pass.
